MOON DESTROYS Returns with New Lineup & New Single "The Nearness of June"

Heavy rock powerhouse MOON DESTROYS is back with a fresh lineup and a gripping new single, "The Nearness of June." Guitarist Juan Montoya (ex-Torche, MonstrO, ex-Killer Be Killed) and drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, ex-Royal Thunder) welcome vocalist/guitarist Charlie Suárez (MonstrO, ex-Sunday Driver) into the fold, completing the band’s lineup as they continue their journey of blending heavy rock and psychedelia.

Charlie Suárez comments on the new track:

The Nearness of June”, romanticized as far as the galaxy permits, is nothing more than a tale of hope within despair amongst the passengers of an inter-planetary vessel being propelled into the unknown.”

Following their critically acclaimed debut EP 'Maiden Voyage' (2020), which featured guest appearances from members of Mastodon, Cynic, and The Sword, the band has evolved their sound even further. "The Nearness of June" is available now on Bandcamp and YouTube, showcasing their continued passion for delivering raw, emotive music that taps into influences from The Cure, Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd.

Montoya and Suárez reunite for the first time since their days together in the Miami/Atlanta band MonstrO, bringing a seasoned chemistry to MOON DESTROYS’ dynamic sound. The band has been hard at work throughout the summer of 2024, self-recording and producing their highly anticipated debut full-length album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
