PLAIINSĀ hit you like a freight train āĀ songs full of power and character, craziness, and energy.
Founded by singer Chris ReardonĀ amidst the pandemic, PLAIINSĀ are growing on the soil made fertile by bands like IDLES, QOTSA, and TURNSTILE. Since the release of their debut single "The Wolf" in March 2022, the band has racked up tons of streams, been featured in major editorial playlists on all important platforms (All New Rock, All New Punk), and been a recurring guest on big radio stations like BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, and RBB Fritz.Ā
WithĀ "Happy Faces,"Ā PLAIINSĀ now present the first single of their debut album, which will be released this summer viaĀ Long Branch Records.Ā
"'Happy Faces' is a fast and raucous indie punk song about the duality of the protagonists views of the importance of putting on aĀ happyĀ face to promote a joyful view on the world and being courageous, throwing yourself into the unknown and the compromising hypocrisy of going too far,"Ā comments Reardon. "Do you become a happier, freer person or is it a mere mask obscuring a person's view on reality? As the song starts, it all seems to point toward the first. But as the song progresses, the protagonist takes things further and further. Buying a whole bar a round of drinks on his credit card without any thought. As he burns out into an insanity, screaming 'HappyĀ dumbass faces.'"

With their latest Blow Up The Fizz EP, Plaiins have been cementing their status as a must-watch-act, showing themselves as a modern, multi-faceted rock outfit. They are able to combine introverted moments with '90s influences, big hooks, and sing-along choruses with wiry punk riffs and beefy drums.Ā PLAIINSĀ are talking about the topics that touch their (and probably every other) generation:Ā sex, love, longing and the search for identity as well as toxic relationships, mental health, and social issues. The foursome isĀ showcasing every emotion, unfiltered āĀ whether on recording, their music videos, or live on stage.
On tour with acts like LEAP,Ā PressĀ Club, or Itchy, as well as on their own headline showsĀ PLAIINSĀ proveĀ that they can hold their own both on the small and big stages. If you go see them live (and you should!), you can expect shouting, jumping, stomping and sweating, the boundary between band and audience blurring āĀ high emotions and always with all their heart.
